Northern Arizona’s only consumer operated community mental health service agency.

A non-profit 501(C)3 corporation, NAZCARE, Inc., serves people with serious mental illness throughout Northern Arizona through recovery centers in Prescott, Flagstaff, Bullhead City, Show Low, and Snowflake

Consumer-operated services are fast becoming a cost-effective way to assist persons with serious mental illness to recover and to return to productive, satisfying lives through peer support. Peer support does not replace professional services, but provides additional support outside traditional mental health agencies. NAZCARE, Inc. is the only consumer-operated agency in Northern Arizona.

Our mission is to provide mental health consumer-operated support, education, and training services to mental health consumers in Northern Arizona. Our services are designed:

• To empower mental health consumers through consumer-operated support, education, and training services;
• To support consumers in recovery from mental illness;
• To provide a range of employment opportunities for consumers within the behavioral health system; and
• To carry on other charitable activities consistent with our vision or mission.

Additional pertinent information:

• Services are funded through contract with NARBHA and the State of Arizona.
• Private and foundation support is needed to provide a full continuum of needed services.
• We operate five centers and more than 90% of our staff are mental health consumers.
• More than 25 consumer volunteers assist consumer staff in operating the five centers.
